Janet's surprise

Hi all, it's been a while since I last blogged. But I got to share with you an exciting thing that's going to happen very soon. On 1 May 2006, Janet will be unveiling a surprise on her website. Click here to get to Miss Janet's website.

The countdown clock has been running for the past 9 days already, and for Singapore users, the clock will hit zero at 12 noon on 1 May. I'll be there at 12 noon sharp tomorrow for sure.

There have been fans speculating what the surprise will be and most of them predict that Janet will be unveiling her new single on the website. As you might have known, Janet is releasing a new album this year, due around September. It's tentatively titled 20 Years Old, in commemoration of the release of her breakthrough album, Control, 20 years ago.

I feel that it's quite a tacky title, but hope it will be a solid album. Longtime collaborators Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis will be producing this album, as well as Janet's beau, Jermaine Dupri. JD, of course, is the one responsible for some of the biggest hits of late, such as Usher and Alicia Keys' My Boo, Usher's Confessions Part II and Burn, Mariah Carey's Shake It Off, We Belong Together and It's Like That. Hope JD can work his magic with Janet once again.
